What you'll see
A steep wooded hill over the river, climbed by paths and steps past a waterfall and the statue of St Gellért. From the top, by the tall Liberty Statue and the walls of the Citadella, you see every bridge and both halves of the city.
A brief history
The hill is named after a bishop who, legend says, was thrown from it in 1046; the Citadella fortress was built by the Habsburgs after the 1848 revolution to keep watch over the city.
