What you'll see
A vast star-shaped artillery fort on a spit in the Moray Firth: a mile of grassy ramparts, barrack rooms set out as they were, a chapel and a regimental museum, with the sea on three sides.
A brief history
It was built after Culloden to make sure there was never another Jacobite rising, and soldiers are still based here today. Dolphins are often seen from the ramparts.
